Hi, I’m Daniil Timin.
I am a figure skating coach and an ice skating instructor from Russia. I offer private skating lessons in the northern Chicago suburbs and Pleasant Prairie/Kenosha, WI.
I work with skaters of all levels whether you are a beginner, an adult skater, or a competitive novice, junior or senior level athlete. Available as a primary or secondary coach.
I have over 20 years of experience as a competitive figure skater in Russia, ice shows performer on Disney on Ice and Willy Bietak Productions on Royal Caribbean cruise ships as well as a figure skating coach. I am offering “Learn to skate” group classes and private ice skating lessons in Pleasant Prairie, WI/Kenosha area as well as in the Chicago’s northern suburbs at the following rinks:
- Pleasant Prairie RecPlex – Pleasant Prairie skating school;
- Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills, IL;
- Twin Rinks Ice Pavillion in Buffalo Grove, IL;
- Centennial Ice Arena in Highland Park, IL.
The duration of the private skating lessons is 30 minutes or 1 hour long. I am currently running a promotion – the first 30-minute private lesson is complimentary for the new skaters! This offer is for a limited time only!
My area of specialization is:
- single freestyle skating;
- jumping technique;
- working on deeper edges, stroking, basic skating skills;
- moves in the field;
- step sequence choreography;
- choreographing figure skating routines;
- off-ice (jump rotations technique, spinner), conditioning training.
I like to work by setting realistic goals based on a skater’s current skill level and from there to take steps towards what you are seeking to achieve in practice. Together, we will make your skating dreams come true! I believe besides working on required technical elements, jumps and spins, it’s just as important to continue improving skating skills and work on deeper edges, balanced, controlled and faster glide.
