Hi, I’m Coach Daniil

Daniil Timin - figure skating coach in Chicago Illinois

  • I’m a figure skating coach in the Greater Chicago area, Chicago’s northern suburbs (Vernon Hills, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, Northbrook, Highland Park, Gurnee), Pleasant Prairie and Kenosha, WI.
  • I have more than 20 years of experience as a competitive single skater in Russia, professional ice shows performer, and a figure skating coach.
  • USFS Professional Coach/Choreographer, Basic Skills and Learn to Skate Instructor.
  • As a competitive skater, I am a Master of Sports of Russia in single skating. Medalist of many novice and junior national competitions in Russia.
  • Began a career as a professional show skater in 2010 with the “Disney on ice”. A principal single skater for Disney on ice shows “Worlds of Fantasy” and “Worlds of Enchantment”.

As a figure skating coach, I am very passionate about the sport. I am passionate about ice skating in general and most importantly seeing my students progress. My mission as a coach is to help skaters achieve their individual goals while having fun along the way.

Those goals don’t necessarily have to be competing at the highest level or ice skating professionally. Not everybody is interested in competitions, or wanting to “make it to the Olympics”. Some skaters simply love to be on the ice, they just want to enjoy it and skate for themselves.

Others might have a goal to get to a level to be able to travel around the world and perform in ice shows such as “Disney on Ice” or “Holiday on Ice”. It’s a great realistic goal!

I have an individual take on all of my students based on what they would like to achieve in the process and what is their motivation to take skating lessons.

I enjoy working with skaters of all levels whether it’s tots taking their first step on the ice, beginner-level skaters, adult skaters, or experienced novice, junior or senior level athletes.

I currently offer private ice skating lessons at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex facility as well as at the rinks in northern Chicago suburbs (Glacier ice arena in Vernon Hills, Buffalo Grove, Gurnee, Highland Park, IL).
